Wine
Cloudburst Cabernet Sauvignon is grown in the remote south-west corner of Australia. The vineyard is sited in bushland adjoining the Leeuwin Naturaliste National Park at the edge of the Indian Ocean.
In 2010 Cloudburst entered the local wine competition, the Margaret River Wine Show, with its first ever Cabernet Sauvignon. It swept all before it, winning trophies for best of variety, best single vineyard red and best red of the show.
Closely planted rows produce a low volume of intensely flavoured fruit. At the winery wild ferments are used and intervention is as minimal as possible. The wine matures for 20 months in oak. A small amount of Malbec is added.
A brilliant blackcurrant colour, Cloudburst Cabernet Sauvignon has dark forest fruit flavours, vibrant acidity and a lasting finish. It is powerful yet delicate. Cellaring potential is 12 years.
