Wade Block 2 Vineyard Shiraz
Wine
Brokenwood Wade Block 2 Vineyard Shiraz is grown in a single vineyard at McLaren Flat in McLaren Vale. The vineyard is planted in deep sand with cuttings from a very old local vineyard.
The fruit is machine harvested, crushed, chilled and pumped to a tanker. The tanker makes the road journey from McLaren Vale to the Hunter Valley within 24 hours.
At Brokenwood the juice is wild fermented in open fermenters before maturing in French oak. The wine is not overly pumped over, as soft tannins are required. It is released as a two year old wine.
Vibrant purple, Brokenwood Wade Block 2 Vineyard Shiraz has black fruit flavours, dusty soft tannins and a lingering finish. Cellaring potential is 12 years.
