Wine
Boireann The Lurnea is a Bordeaux inspired red blend containing roughly equal portions of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Tannat and Petit Verdot with a small amount of Cabernet Franc.
All the fruit is sourced from the estate vineyard planted in finely decomposed granite soils. Perched at 870 metres elevation on Queensland's Granite Belt, it is a high altitude, cool climate site.
The fruit is handpicked, destemmed and crushed for open fermentation. After around one week on skins the wine is transferred to new and seasoned French oak barrels for maturation.
Bright crimson purple, Boireann The Lurnea is medium to full bodied with red fruit flavours, careful oak nuances and ripe, plush tannins. Cellaring potential is 12 years.
