Varley Shiraz
Wine
Baileys of Glenrowan Varley Shiraz is selected from the very best fruit grown at Baileys; effectively it is the finest Shiraz they can produce.
The wine is named after Varley Bailey. Varley Bailey and his father, winery founder Richard Bailey, selected a rugged parcel of north-east Victorian bush and planted their vines in the 1860s.
Varley Shiraz is made using traditional methods, including open fermentation and basket pressing. The wine matures for 15 months in a single 2,800 litre French oak vat, which ensures oak plays only a supporting role to the fruit.
Deep red, Baileys of Glenrowan Varley Shiraz has rich dark berry flavours, powerful yet restrained tannins, and a lasting finish.
Made only in outstanding vintages. Cellaring potential is 20 years.
