Wine
Allies Wines Tuerong Pinot Noir is sourced from warm, sun drenched vineyards at the northern gateway to the Mornington Peninsula.
The Tuerong township is one of the warmest parts of the region due to its low altitude and high latitude. During the summer, afternoon sea breezes from Port Phillip Bay provide only a little cool relief.
The grapes are rigorously sorted in both the vineyard and winery. Following a period of cold soaking, they are warm fermented with natural yeasts. The juice remains on skins until the tannins are supple.
Nothing is added unless absolutely necessary. There are no stems, no added yeasts, and malolactic fermentation occurs naturally. At bottling there is no fining or filtration.
Deep crimson, Allies Wines Tuerong Pinot Noir is a savoury wine with firm, drying tannins and a fresh acid finish. Cellaring potential is five years.
