Tarraford Vineyard Chardonnay
Wine
Giant Steps Tarraford Vineyard Chardonnay is sourced from a protected valley where the microclimate is distinctly cooler than its neighbours. It is known for producing Chardonnay with high natural acidity.
The P58 clone fruit is handpicked and hand sorted in the vineyard and winery. It is whole bunch pressed and coarse settled to new and seasoned French oak. Fermentation occurs with indigenous yeasts.
The wine matures for 9-10 months on lees without malolactic fermentation or lees stirring. After a coarse filtration, it is bottled via gravity.
Pale yellow, Giant Steps Tarraford Vineyard Chardonnay has refined structure, delicate creamy textures, refreshing acidity and a zesty citrus finish. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
