Wine
Serrat Pinot Noir is primarily drawn from the estate's 2001 plantings of MV6 clone Pinot Noir, plus a small portion from newer plantings of the Pommard clone.
The grapes are handpicked and most are destemmed, around one third kept as whole bunches to develop heady, fragrant aromas in the wine. Natural fermentation occurs in open fermenters.
The wine is then pressed into new and seasoned French oak puncheons, where it matures for 12 months on lees prior to bottling.
Crimson purple, Serrat Pinot Noir has generous fruit flavours with hallmark silky tannins that flow through the taste. Perfect balance and length. Cellaring potential is 15 years.
