St. Andrews Chardonnay
Wine
Taylors St. Andrews Chardonnay, released only in excellent years, draws from the best blocks on the estate vineyard in the Clare Valley. The first St. Andrews wines were released in 1999.
The St. Andrews wines are named after a historic vineyard first established in 1892 that ceased operating in 1934. Founder Bill Taylor recognized the potential of the adjacent St. Andrews property and made it a part of the family's estate in 1995.
The wine is fermented in 100% new French (Burgundian) oak barrels, where it also matures. After a total of 12 months in barrel, the wine is prepared for bottling.
Straw green, Taylors St. Andrews Chardonnay is silky textured, medium bodied yet sumptuous, with juicy stone fruit flavours and a clean citrus finish. Cellaring potential is five years.
