Yelverton Reserve Chardonnay

Forester Estate Yelverton Reserve Chardonnay grapes are meticulously grown, from identifying the right soil types in the vineyard to thinning the vines, shoots and bunches by hand.

The fruit, all Gin Gin clone Chardonnay, is handpicked and kept in cold storage overnight. It is then whole bunch pressed with only the first cut of juice taken for fermentation.

The wine matures in French oak barriques and puncheons, predominantly new with some 2-3 years old. Most of the wine sees malolactic fermentation to soften the harsh malic acid.

After being allowed to clarify and rest on lees, the best barrels are chosen to comprise the final blend.

Straw green, Forester Estate Yelverton Reserve Chardonnay is smooth and creamy with ripe stone fruit flavours, fine acidity and nutty oak. Cellaring potential is five years.
