Macclesfield Syrah
Wine
Longview Macclesfield Syrah draws from three high altitude blocks at Macclesfield in the Adelaide Hills. These windswept, exposed sites produce intensely flavoured fruit.
Fruit is selected solely based on flavour. Careful bunch and berry sorting during handpicking ensures only the best grapes make it to the winery.
The fruit, including around 25% whole bunches, is cold soaked. After open fermentation with daily working of the grape skins, the wine is drained, pressed and settled for 24 hours.
The wine is then racked to seasoned oak puncheons for malolactic fermentation and maturation. It is not filtered prior to bottling.
Purple crimson, Longview Macclesfield Syrah has spicy blue fruit flavours and a focussed finish. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
