King's Wood Shiraz
Wine
Yangarra Estate King's Wood Shiraz is sourced exclusively from Block 12 of the estate vineyard in McLaren Vale, perched on a south-east facing outcrop of sandy ironstone.
The fruit is handpicked. Half is crushed while the remainder ferments as a mix of whole bunches and destemmed whole berries.
Wild yeast fermentation takes place in open fermenters. During two weeks on skins, the ferments receive gentle maceration: simply wetting the cap of grape skins and only draining and returning the juice when strictly necessary.
Yangarra's 'King's Wood' is their beautiful French oak foudre. These giant vessels create a polished wine without imparting overt oak characters.
Crimson red, Yangarra's King's Wood Shiraz is aromatic and spicy with bright brambly berry flavours balanced by an elegant texture. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
