Drumborg Vineyard Pinot Meunier
Wine
Seppelt Drumborg Vineyard Pinot Meunier draws solely from one of mainland Australia's southernmost sites: the Drumborg Vineyard at Henty in south-west Victoria.
Pinot Meunier is principally a component of sparkling blends. This wine – a dry table wine – is one of only a handful of Australian Pinot Meuniers made in this style.
The fruit is destemmed into small open fermenters with a proportion of whole bunches. After 7-10 days on skins, the juice is pressed to French oak to complete its ferment and mature on lees.
The final blend typically includes a small percentage of Pinot Noir.
Garnet red, Seppelt Drumborg Vineyard Pinot Meunier has spicy fruit flavours, velvety tannins and well integrated oak. Cellaring potential is five years.
