Lenswood Vineyard Pinot Noir
Wine
Shaw + Smith Lenswood Vineyard Pinot Noir draws exclusively from the winery's high altitude property at Lenswood in the Adelaide Hills. The vines were planted in 1999.
The grapes are handpicked and hand sorted before being tipped in open fermenters. A small portion of the fruit is kept as whole bunches while the rest is added as destemmed whole berries.
Long, gentle fermentation and maceration follow. The wine then matures for 10 months in French oak puncheons, around one third new.
Deep red, Shaw + Smith Lenswood Vineyard Pinot Noir is fragrant and delicate with fresh acidity and a savoury finish. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
