HBA Shiraz
Wine
Brokenwood HBA Shiraz is named in honour of the winery's three founders – James Halliday, John Beeston and Tony Albert.
The wine is a blend of Hunter Valley and McLaren Vale fruit. It follows the precedent set by Australian winemakers like Maurice O'Shea and Colin Preece, masters of the intricacies of multi-region blending.
The Hunter Valley parcel is from the Graveyard Vineyard while the McLaren Vale parcel is from the Wade Vineyard. Each is vinified separately. Scarce few barrels comprise the final blend.
Once bottled, the wine is tucked away for over 10 years, its flavours fully developed on release.
Brick red, Brokenwood HBA Shiraz is medium to full bodied with Christmas cake flavours. It seamlessly integrates fruit and oak in its long finish. Ready to drink now.
An excellent aged Australian Shiraz. With cellaring potential for a further 10 years.
