Intrigue Pinot Noir
Wine
Chatto Intrigue Pinot Noir is a single site wine from the estate Isle Vineyard, located in Tasmania's Huon Valley at Glaziers Bay. It is a warm, well drained site in a cool location.
The wine is named 'Intrigue' after a Tasmanian racing yacht, which in 1984 was built in secret in a shed. Today that shed is the Chatto winery.
The wine is a blend of all eight clones of Pinot Noir from the Isle Vineyard. After harvest, most of the grapes are destemmed with a small percentage left as whole bunches.
For maturation, the wine is transferred to a mix of new and seasoned French oak barrels.
Bright purple, Chatto Intrigue Pinot Noir has plush blue fruit flavours tamed by spicy tannins and acidity. Cellaring potential is seven years.
