Original Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
Wine
Oakridge Original Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon draws from the original Oakridge vineyard now known as Five Oaks, planted in 1978 at Seville in the Yarra Valley.
The grapes are hand harvested and sorted prior to gentle destemming. Fermentation begins after three days of cold maceration. The fermenting juice receives pump overs twice a day.
Post ferment, the wine remains on skins for an additional four weeks prior to pressing. It then matures in French oak barrels for over a year before bottling.
Dark purple, Oakridge Original Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is medium bodied with bright fruit flavours and soft savoury tannins. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
