Wine
Pt. Leo Estate Reserve Pinot Noir is a blend of six Pinot Noir clones grown on three Mornington Peninsula blocks. Each block is handpicked and vinified separately.
The fruit is destemmed without crushing and placed into small open fermenters. It rests for 2-3 days, allowing fermentation to begin naturally before a cultured yeast is added.
The ferments are plunged up to three times a day. Post ferment, the wine rests on skins for 5-10 days before it is gently pressed and transferred to new and seasoned French oak puncheons.
The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation before winter, then is left to mature until late spring. It is racked prior to bottling.
Deep red, Pt. Leo Estate Reserve Pinot Noir is powerfully aromatic with sweet fruit flavours, fine tannins and a lingering finish. Cellaring potential is five years.
