Wine
Ox Hardy Grenache is handpicked from old bush vine blocks in Blewitt Springs and McLaren Flat in McLaren Vale. The fruit from each block is processed separately.
Most of the grapes are destemmed and crushed. Select parcels have whole bunches placed at the bottom of the fermenter with the remaining fruit destemmed and crushed on top.
Fermentation is with a select yeast. The parcels with whole bunches are hand plunged while the others are pumped over. Once sugar dryness is reached, the wine is pressed and transferred to seasoned French oak barrels.
After six months of maturation, the final blend is assembled and the wine bottled.
Bright crimson purple, Ox Hardy Grenache has juicy red fruit flavours, warming spice and abundant chalky tannins. Cellaring potential is seven years.
