Third Reef Shiraz
Wine
Rockcliffe Third Reef Shiraz, named after the renowned surf break at Denmark on Western Australia's southern coast, is made with cool climate fruit.
The grapes are destemmed and crushed into small open fermenters, then inoculated for fermentation. The juice is pumped over with aeration twice a day.
After a long, warm post-ferment maceration, the wine is sent to barrel for malolactic fermentation, which allows a soft integration of grape and oak tannins. It matures for 15 months before being fined and bottled.
Purple red, Rockcliffe Third Reef Shiraz has dense dark fruit flavours with ripe tannins and a velvety texture. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
