Single Site Shiraz
Wine
Rockcliffe Single Site Shiraz is sourced from a single vineyard in the Great Southern region, typically at Frankland River. All the grapes are machine harvested.
The fruit is destemmed and crushed into small open fermenters and inoculated with yeast. During fermentation, the juice is kept at 25°C and pumped over with aeration twice a day.
A long post ferment maceration follows. The wine then transfers to French oak barrels for malolactic fermentation and maturation. Prior to bottling it is fined with egg whites.
Deep red purple, Rockcliffe Single Site Shiraz has generous brambly and dark berry flavours, savoury notes and fine, ripe tannins. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
