Bendigo Shiraz
Wine
Passing Clouds Bendigo Shiraz is sourced from the Serpentine and Zonnebeke Vineyards in Bendigo. In select years, a parcel of Axedale Vineyard Shiraz completes the blend.
The fruit is destemmed and hand sorted before being vinified in open stainless steel fermenters. Each batch is hand plunged twice a day. A portion see post-ferment maceration.
The wine matures for 12 months in French oak barrels, a small proportion new. It is given light egg white fining and a coarse filtration prior to bottling.
Inky purple, Passing Clouds Bendigo Shiraz has blue fruit flavours, fine tannins and fresh acidity with a long earthy finish. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
