McLaren Vale Mataro

Ministry of Clouds McLaren Vale Mataro is primarily sourced from a vineyard at Blewitt Springs in McLaren Vale, sited on an east facing slope to catch the morning sun.

Dry grown in deep, wind blown sand, this vineyard produces low yields of thick skinned and small berried grapes. They are handpicked to ensure delicate handling.

The fruit is lightly destemmed to retain whole berries. It is cold soaked to capture aromatics, then open fermented with daily pump overs. After basket pressing, the wine is matured in seasoned French oak barrels.

Garnet red, Ministry of Clouds McLaren Vale Mataro has compact blue and black fruit flavours and a driving, robust tannin structure. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
