Villages Rosé
Wine
Marchand & Burch Villages Rosé is a contemporary wine modelled after the dry Rosés of Provence in southern France. It is a blend of Pinot Noir and Shiraz.
The fruit, grown in the Great Southern wine region, is handpicked. It sees a gentle extraction period to obtain only the lightest pink hues from the red grape skins.
The winemaking method is similar to that of white wines. The juice ferments naturally in seasoned French oak. Lees stirring begins late in the fermentation, then occurs weekly until sugar dryness is reached.
Partial malolactic fermentation occurs during a short oak maturation. At bottling, there is minimal fining and filtration.
Pale coral pink, Marchand & Burch Villages Rosé has soft red berries and juicy stone fruits. Fine, chalky savouriness provides length and texture. Ideal summer drinking.
