L'autre Pinot Noir
Wine
Lane's End L'autre Pinot Noir is quite literally the other Pinot Noir in Lane's End's range: l'autre means 'the other' in French.
The fruit is sourced from the Lane’s End Vineyard, situated in red Cambrian volcanic soils and grey loamy granitic soils. The vineyard lies 580 metres above sea level at the foot of Mount William in the Macedon Ranges.
The fruit is completely destemmed – no whole bunch input – and wild yeast fermented in open tanks. After around three weeks on skins, the wine is matured in French oak barrels for six months.
Deep red, Lane's End L'autre Pinot Noir has lashings of red and dark fruit flavours, spice and, earthy characters leading to a long finish. Cellaring potential is five years.
