Shiraz
Wine
Kerrigan + Berry Shiraz is drawn from the Acacia Ridge Vineyard in Frankland River. The warm days and cold nights typical of the inland climate are ideal for growing dense, full flavoured Shiraz.
Once it has reached full ripeness, the fruit is harvested from Blocks I and J in the cool of the night. It is crushed into open fermenters, where it ferments with plunging and pump overs to extract colour and tannins.
The wine is pressed off skins at dryness, and both the free run and pressings portions of juice are retained. Maturation is in French oak barrels for 15 months.
Red black, Kerrigan + Berry Shiraz is an immense wine with ripe fleshy fruit flavours and firm structural tannins. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
