Mea Culpa Syrah
Wine
Innocent Bystander Mea Culpa Syrah is made with exceptional parcels of fruit from a single Yarra Valley vineyard. It is only produced in select vintages.
The fruit cold soaks for two days before it is open fermented with a small whole bunch inclusion. The fermenting juice is hand plunged 2-3 times a day for seven days.
The wine is then gently pressed to tank for malolactic fermentation. For maturation, it is sent to a mix of new and seasoned French oak barrels. After 18 months, the wine is bottled with minimal fining and filtration.
Purple red, Innocent Bystander Mea Culpa Syrah's intense berry flavours and bright spicy notes lead to a smooth finish. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
