Opera Block Shiraz
Wine
Ballandean Estate Opera Block Shiraz shows the Granite Belt's typical cool climate profile. It draws from the Opera Block's oldest vines, planted in 1968 by winery founder Angelo Puglisi.
The grapes are hand harvested. After a long fermentation, the wine is aged for 12-15 months in air dried French oak barrels, typically between one and three years old. It is bottled with minimal filtration and no fining.
Deep purple, Ballandean Estate Opera Block Shiraz is medium bodied with intense blackcurrant flavours, light oak spice and a long, smooth finish. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
