Aquila Audax Vineyard Tempranillo
Wine
A. Rodda Aquila Audax Vineyard Tempranillo is hand harvested from a sustainable vineyard at Beechworth, planted in 1997 at an altitude of 580 metres above sea level.
The fruit is destemmed without crushing and cold soaked. Fermentation occurs with a mix of pump overs, rack and returns and plunging to preserve aromatics while extracting adequate tannins for structure and length.
After 14 days on skins post ferment, the wine is pressed to new and seasoned French oak hogsheads for 16 months of maturation. It receives light egg white fining prior to bottling.
Deep red, A. Rodda Aquila Audax Vineyard Tempranillo is medium bodied with red and dark berry flavours and balanced acidity. Cellaring potential is five years.
