Wine
Hahndorf Hill Reserve Grüner Veltliner takes inspiration from the reserve style Grüners of Kamptal in Austria. The fruit is sourced from the estate vineyard in the Adelaide Hills.
The wine is made from riper grapes, selectively handpicked later than those for the GRU Grüner Veltliner. Fermentation occurs with wild yeasts in seasoned French oak barrels, followed by 12 months of maturation on lees.
After bottling, the wine is aged for a further 18 months in a cool, underground cellar.
Pale straw, Hahndorf Hill Reserve Grüner Veltliner is full bodied and opulent, yet retains a lively line of citrus and minerality. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
