Shiraz Mataro
Wine
Adelina Shiraz Mataro is sourced from the Adelina and McDowell-Brown Vineyards in the Clare Valley. The vines were predominately planted between the early 1900s and the 1920s.
The wine is typically two thirds Shiraz and one third Mataro. The varieties are fermented separately due to their different ripening times.
Handpicked, destemmed fruit is fermented with selected yeast. After up to a month on skins, the wine is sent to large format French oak barrels and concrete tanks for natural malolactic fermentation and maturation.
Inky red, Adelina Shiraz Mataro is medium bodied with ripe red fruit flavours, savoury herb notes and a mineral edge. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
