Woori Yallock Pinot Noir
Wine
Mac Forbes Woori Yallock Pinot Noir is sourced from the School House Block at Woori Yallock in the Upper Yarra Valley. It is planted to MV6 clone Pinot Noir, grown in loamy clays over siltstone.
Sited on a south-west facing aspect, the vineyard is protected from hot northerly winds. The Great Dividing Range delivers further cooling influences.
The fruit is picked and sorted by hand. A portion is foot stomped. Open fermentation occurs with indigenous yeast and a small whole bunch inclusion. After 11 months of ageing in seasoned oak, the wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Bright garnet, Mac Forbes Woori Yallock Pinot Noir has crunchy red fruits, lively acidity and chalky tannins, with a stony mineral edge. Cellaring potential is seven years.
