Tarraford Vineyard Syrah

Giant Steps Tarraford Vineyard Syrah is sourced from a protected valley which gives it a cooler microclimate than its neighbours. The fruit is handpicked from Blocks 4 and 5, each kept separate in the winery.

The Block 4 parcel is destemmed and after fermentation sees a week of maceration to develop tannins. The Block 5 parcel ferments as whole bunches for a week, then is destemmed and returned to the same fermenter.

The components mature separately in seasoned French oak for 14 months. After blending, the wine is bottled via gravity without fining or filtration.

Ruby purple, Giant Steps Tarraford Vineyard Syrah is a premium single vineyard wine. It has a core of dark fruit flavours, velvety textures and exotic spices. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
