Estate Grown Pinot Noir
Wine
Elgee Park Estate Grown Pinot Noir is sourced from vines planted in 1988 across the rolling hills of Merricks North on the Mornington Peninsula.
The fruit is handpicked then destemmed with minimal crushing into small open fermenters. Natural fermentation commences after several days. The juice spends two weeks on skins prior to pressing.
After settling overnight, the wine is transferred to new and seasoned barrels for malolactic fermentation and 10 months of maturation. The wine is racked off gross lees before bottling.
Cherry red, Elgee Park Estate Grown Pinot Noir has spicy richness and a backbone of soft fleshy tannins. Cellaring potential is seven years.
