Verona Vineyard Shiraz
Wine
Brokenwood Verona Vineyard Shiraz is grown just across the road from the famous Graveyard Vineyard. Verona Vineyard was planted in 1968 with cuttings from older Hunter Valley vineyards.
The vineyard is on loam soil which brings a floral character to the wine. The fruit is cold soaked for several days before a 4-5 day wild ferment. The oak regime is all seasoned French oak; new oak is not used.
Deep purple, Brokenwood Verona Vineyard Shiraz is medium bodied with lifted fruit flavours, ripe tannins and persistent length. Cellaring potential is 12 years.
