Rayner Vineyard Shiraz
Wine
Brokenwood Rayner Vineyard Shiraz is single vineyard made from vines planted in deep sand over clay, just outside the town of McLaren Vale in South Australia.
The fruit is machine harvested, crushed, chilled and pumped to a tanker. The tanker makes the road journey from McLaren Vale to the Hunter Valley within 24 hours.
At Brokenwood the juice ferments in large open fermenters with twice daily hand plunging. It is pressed to French oak just before the end of fermentation to mature for 18 months.
Deep crimson, Brokenwood Rayner Vineyard Shiraz is medium to full bodied with rich fruit flavours and ripe, soft tannins. Cellaring potential is 12 years.
