Issan Pinot Noir
Wine
Bass Phillip Issan Pinot Noir grows in the Issan Vineyard, a short distance east of the winery near Outtrim in South Gippsland. The hungry, silty soils and dense plantings result in very low yields.
The fruit is crushed and destemmed before undergoing a week long wild yeast fermentation. After careful pressing, the wine ages for 12 months in French oak. It is bottled with little or no filtration.
Dark crimson red, Bass Phillip Issan Pinot Noir has rich berry fruit flavours, supple tannins and a mineral spine. Cellaring potential is seven years.
