Platinum Label Medlands Estate Shiraz
Wine
Wolf Blass Platinum Label Medlands Estate Shiraz is sourced from the distinguished Medlands Vineyard at Dorrien on the Barossa Valley floor, renowned for growing outstanding Shiraz.
The vineyard is set in ancient soils laid down over five million years ago. It slopes gently towards the North Para River, cooled by breezes flowing downstream.
Only the most intense, varietally expressive fruit is selected. The grapes are crushed and destemmed before fermenting to dryness on skins in small batch open fermenters. This usually lasts up to two weeks.
Once pressed, the wine is racked to new and seasoned French oak barrels. Around 20 months of maturation enhances the complexity, structure and length of the final wine.
Rich purple, Wolf Blass Platinum Label Medlands Estate Shiraz is laden with opulent dark berry flavours given focus by spicy French oak and silky texture. Definitive tannins lead to a lingering finish.
It showcases the intensity of Barossa Shiraz. Cellaring potential is 25 years.
