Wine
Ten Minutes by Tractor Judd Chardonnay is made with careful selections of fruit grown in the silty clay loams over red ferrosols of the Judd Vineyard. It is only produced in years that reach a quality benchmark.
Due west, the Judd Vineyard sees slow morning warming as the sun rises over the ridge, but bears full heat in the afternoon, resulting in generously flavoured fruit.
Handpicked grapes are whole bunch pressed. The unsettled juice is immediately transferred to small French oak barrel, typically 15% new, for indigenous yeast fermentation. Partial malolactic fermentation follows.
Partial malolactic fermentation and 10 months of maturation take place in barrel. The wine is bottled unfined.
Deep yellow, Ten Minutes by Tractor Judd Chardonnay has fresh white stone fruit characters and creamy oak with a linear acidity that keeps the finish tight.
An evocative Mornington Peninsula Chardonnay. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
