Leeuwin Estate Prelude Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon blends Cabernet Sauvignon with small portions of Merlot and/or Malbec, depending on the vintage.

After individual berry sorting and cold soaking, the grapes ferment in a mix of closed and open fermenters. Each parcel is pumped over three times daily, with temperatures kept at 26-30°C.

Malolactic fermentation is in barrel with nine months of subsequent ageing. It is then blended for further maturation in French oak with seasonal racking. The wine spends 20 months in total in oak.

Bright garnet, Leeuwin Estate Prelude Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon has layers of dark fruit, finely laced acidity and graphite minerality on the finish.

Though made to drink on release, cellaring potential is 10 years.
