Old Vine Grenache
Wine
Head Wines Old Vine Grenache is the result of Alex Head's annual search for the best parcels of old vine Grenache, sourced from small dry grown vineyards across the Barossa Valley.
The wine is made the way Barossan growers made it generations back – whole bunch wild ferments, hand plunging and foot treading. It ages on lees for 12 months in French oak, with some old vine Mataro added.
Deep crimson red, Head Wines Old Vine Grenache has ripe red fruit flavours, fine tannins and persistent length. Cellaring potential is 12 years.
