2014 Bin 144 Yattarna Chardonnay
Vintage reviews
Yes, it may be prudent at this stage to understate the quality of this Yattarna release … at least until learned endorsement elicits judgement. Impatiently, in the interim – one of the great Yattarna vintages!
At release, this 2014 Yattarna presents a difficult decision … more time required? To the cellar – not for immediate gratification!
Yes, probably a wise call.

The complex, chalky, crushed stones/mineral-nosed 2014 Chardonnay Yattarna opens out to perfumed notes of orange blossoms, peach kernels, grapefruit and lemon zest plus some matchstick and honey-nut nuances.
Very fine and intense in the mouth, it is taut yet multilayered, with a fine light to medium body and amazing length. This is right up there with Australia's best and that is saying something given the caliber of Aussie Chardonnays today!
By the way, the fruit this year was sourced 73% from Tasmania and 27% from Adelaide Hills.
