1972 Grange

Vintage reviews

Sourced from the Barossa Valley (including Kalimna Vineyard), Magill Estate (Adelaide) and Modbury Vineyard (Adelaide), Coonawarra. A generally dry growing season followed by mild weather at vintage.

Shiraz (90%), Cabernet Sauvignon (10%). Eighteen months in new American oak hogsheads.

84/100

A blend of 90% Shiraz and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine was attenuated and compressed, with excessive tannin. The wine has medium body and a very hard, angular, austere style. It is fully mature, so cellaring is not going to improve it.
