Winery
In 1990 Tasmanian vigneron Fred Peacock purchased one of Tasmania's pioneering vineyards and established Bream Creek. The vineyard overlooks Marion Bay, the place Abel Tasman first landed in 1642 to collect water and raise the Dutch flag.
Bream Creek's vineyard, planted in 1974, lies on the gentle slopes of a north-east ridge along Tasmania's east coast. Its frost free springs, sunny summer days with moderating sea breezes, and long autumn ripening enhance flavour in the grapes. The cool maritime influence is ideal for Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling. Bream Creek also have the Southern Hemisphere's first plantings of Schönburger, a rare German variety.
Bream Creek's best parcels are selected for the Reserve range. It includes a Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Old Vine Riesling. Another highlight is the Late Picked Schönburger dessert wine.
