Winery
Founded by geologist John Davis in 2000, Carillion Wines began as three separate labels: Tallavera Grove, Carillion and Stonefields. Now under the ownership of son Tim Davis, the labels have been amalgamated into the Carillion brand.
The Davis family operates three vineyards across three regions: Tallavera Grove in the Hunter Valley and Carillion in Orange (both in New South Wales), as well as Stonefields in Wrattonbully, South Australia. The sites are planted to the varieties best suited to each region's unique soils and climate. A small producer, Carillion make single vineyard wines by selecting the best parcels from the best blocks. Small batch winemaking is the focus.
Carillion Wines Origins range is the lead. Standouts include Block 22 Cabernet Sauvignon, Fenestella Shiraz and Crystals Chardonnay. The Lovable Rogue range, featuring Italian varieties, is more adventurous.
