Inspired by his grandfather's vineyard in Tuscany, Stefano Stefani and his wife Rina purchased a property at Healesville in the Yarra Valley in 1997. Planting vines that same year they established Stefani Estate.

Stefani Estate has three cool climate Yarra Valley vineyards: The View, The Gate and Belaradah. Plantings include Cabernet, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, as well as several Italian varieties – most notably Sangiovese, grown from cuttings of the Stefani family's Boccallupo Vineyard in Tuscany. They also have a site in Heathcote, where the warmer conditions and rich red soils suit their robust red varieties. The viticultural focus is balance: they keep yields low and harvest by hand.

Stefani Estate's main label is reserved for their single vineyard wines. Highlights include the Riserva Sangiovese, Barrel Selection Heathcote Shiraz and The View Chardonnay.
