Usher Tinkler Wines

Usher Tinkler is family to three generations of farmers, all with a passion for the Hunter Valley. In 2015 he and his wife Ebony launched their own label, with Usher the winemaker and Ebony the marketeer.

The Usher Tinkler Wines cellar door is a renovated 1905 church at Pokolbin. The fruit is sourced from the Tinkler family's vineyard which, since the purchase of adjoining Lindeman's Ben Ean land in 2018, now stretches from the cellar door to the Tinkler winery just down the road. Plantings include Shiraz (planted in 1968), Chardonnay and Semillon. In the winery, Usher Tinkler blurs the line between traditional and contemporary winemaking.

Usher Tinkler's lead wines are its Reserve Shiraz and the limited release Mr. T's Fortified, a fortified Verdelho. Adventurous and quirky are the words that come to mind. To coin a phrase: good different.
