Winery
Mr. Riggs began in 2001 as a collaboration between Ben Riggs and his mentor Tony Parkinson. In 2013 mentor and mentee parted ways and Ben Riggs struck out on his own, now both owner and winemaker.
Mr. Riggs has their own Piebald Gully Vineyard in Clarendon, McLaren Vale's coolest district. But their scope is much broader, drawing on Ben Riggs' extensive connections with growers across South Australia's patchwork of terrain by the sea, undulating hills and broad flood plains. He cherry picks fruit that best suits his intended wine styles and teases out the essence of the region and variety in the winery.
Mr. Riggs wines are unpretentious expressions of place. The lead range features The Chap Shiraz Cabernet, J.F.R Shiraz and Burnt Block Shiraz. The Generation series plays with other varieties and styles.
