At the Winery

In 1984 Chris and Robyn Pfeiffer purchased a dilapidated old distillery in Rutherglen and converted it into a winery, establishing Pfeiffer. Their daughter Jen joined the winery in 2000, today running day to day operations.
Pfeiffer lies on an embankment of Sunday Creek, a tributary of the Murray River. Their Sunday Creek Vineyard is surrounded by River Red Gums while their second vineyard, Carlyle, is more elevated with its vines running downhill. Embracing Rutherglen's fortified wine tradition, Pfeiffer's speciality is Muscat. They release just a fraction of their production each year, storing the rest in their late 1800s cellars to ensure stocks of aged material for future blends.
Despite being comparatively young producers in historic region, Pfeiffer have maturing and blending fortified wines down to an art. Their Rare Rutherglen Muscat leads the way.
