1000 Crowns Chardonnay
Wine
Credaro 1000 Crowns Chardonnay is sourced from two vineyards in Margaret River: their southernmost vineyard near Witchcliffe, and a north facing slope in Metricup.
The fruit is carefully handpicked and whole bunch pressed in the cool of the morning. The first cut of juice is run directly to barrel for natural fermentation, with no additions.
Immediately post ferment the barrels are sulphured to prevent malolactic fermentation. The wine matures for around nine months in one third new French oak barrels with monthly lees stirring.
Pale straw, Credaro 1000 Crowns Chardonnay has stone fruit notes and zesty citrus with creamy lees texture and a delicate acid line. Cellaring potential is seven years.
