Wine

Bangor Jimmy's Hill Pinot Gris is named after Bangor's highest point, which rises to a commanding 300 metres over their southern Tasmanian vineyard.

Jimmy's Hill is in turn named after the hardy signalman who lived at the summit in the 1840s. He operated the semaphore station – the text messaging system of the day – that enabled messages to be rapidly relayed around the colony.

The grapes ripen slowly in Tasmania's cool climate, allowing rich flavours and aromas to develop. They are all handpicked with high natural acidity.

Fermentation occurs with cultured yeast from the Alsace region in France. The wine then matures on lees in tank to add weight and texture.

A golden hue, Bangor Jimmy’s Hill Pinot Gris is medium bodied and fruity with a silky texture and a crisp, clean finish. Cellaring potential is three years.
